| First thing -define reliable. The willwood set is quite capable but you need to select the correct pads and use a brake bias controller. Even so pad selection front and back changes the game significantly. Tire selection changes things drastically. For example brake "reliability" with 275 slicks all around is far less than even the stickiest street tire. Weight of the car changes things too. Even with the z fully lightened (2800) lbs, we had to use very agressive pad compounds to get the brakes to work good. Keep in mind bigger rotors are not always better. Bigger rotors weight more and can negate any advantage you might have. Unsprung weight has a 4x effect on the car compared to sprung weight. I like willwoods because 1. They are relatively cheaper to buy. Replacement rotors are a lot cheaper than say stoptecs 2. Huge pad selection, not to mention, they ar cheaper than other brands 3. Allow use of lightweight 17 inch wheels vs 18's. Remember unsprung weight is a big deal Don't forget the nut behind the wheel and the track you want to run. Some drivers are just harder on brakes, just as some tracks are brutal on brakes. Don't forger brake cooling. Imo stock z facias incl the jdm fascia are useless for brake ducts, lots of fabrication required Harry
